At Art on Paper Amsterdam 2023, the Chabot Museum in Rotterdam is organizing an elaborate exhibition of Armando’s extensive collection of works on paper. Armando (1929 – 2018) was a man of many talents. He was a visual artist, poet, theater maker and violinist. During his lifetime he collected 400 works by 121 fellow artists, often as an anonymous buyer. Many did not know that Armando had bought their work. In 2014 he donated his private collection to the Chabot Museum in Rotterdam, which curated the exhibition “Ik voel me hier gewoon thuis” (“I just feel at home here”) from September 19, 2019 to March 7, 2020 from those works.
